Tony Martin , former vocalist of Black Sabbath , revealed the re-release of all six albums he recorded with the band, from 1987 to 1995, in a special box set.
The news was revealed during an interview the singer gave to The Ron Keel Podcast (via Blabbermouth ). “I found out yesterday, I had no idea. You don’t get much information from the Sabbath side, actually, they’re very protective of their business,” he explained.
Although he didn't have further details about Sabbath's new contract with the record label, Martin confirmed that the project will be released later this year in a box set format containing all the albums from the "Tony Martin era" in the band.
“They made a contract for this now, and that was the problem before – [the albums] aren’t out in the world, and you can’t buy them because they’re not for sale. And you also don’t get royalties, I don’t earn a penny in royalties because they’re not for sale,” he continued. “But if all that changes and they manage to release them, oh man – there’s going to be a lot of Tony Martin material out there.”.
Of the albums recorded by Martin, only the remastered version of The Eternal Idol (1987) is on Spotify, for example. The albums Headless Cross (1989), Tyr (1990), Cross Purposes (1994) and Forbidden (1995) are not currently available on streaming platforms or on the band's official YouTube channel.
