Black Pantera releases music video for “Candeia”; watch it.

The song is part of the band's latest album, 'Perpetual'.

Black Pantera has been gaining increasing recognition in the music scene, participating in major festivals and being heard by a growing audience. The band, which blends rock with other musical styles and addresses themes such as ancestry, belonging, and anti-racism in its lyrics, released the music video for the song "Candeia" on November 4th, showcasing the important causes that have shaped their career.

It's worth remembering that the band was recently mentioned in the 2024 ENEM (National High School Exam) essay by several participants, since the proposed theme was "Challenges for the appreciation of African heritage in Brazil".

Currently, the band is touring with the album Perpétuo (2024), having performed at events such as Rock in Rio, Knotfest , and shared the stage with names like Living Colour , Sepultura , and Sleaford Mods .

“Candeia” was composed from a powerful refrain: “We are the candle that sets the big house ablaze.” The song's lyrics speak of Black revolutions and the strength of carrying ancestry, central themes in the group's compositions.

"The lyrics were built on that, talking about Black revolutions, talking about being that candle, carrying the ancestry, taking that wherever we go," commented bassist and vocalist Chaene da Gama .

The music video mixes images from the short film Cordão de Prata , directed by Getúlio Ribeiro , with scenes of the band playing around candles in the studio. The video was directed by Carol Borges of Quasque Filmes.
