Black Pantera at Rock In Rio: Band delivers a fierce, political, and historic show with Devotos.

The show kicked off the performances on the Sunset Stage this Friday, the 2nd, the first day of the festival.

Black Pantera promised to set Rock In Rio on fire – and they fulfilled that mission with passion and ferocity in a historically significant show on the Sunset Stage at the festival this Friday, September 2nd.

The band from Minas Gerais opened the Metal Day festivities on the event's second-largest stage, starting at 2:55 PM. Despite the challenging early hour, the first of the day, with many people still entering Rock City, Black Pantera attracted a growing crowd throughout their nearly one-hour set, with a fervent audience that responded to every call for the mosh pits.

Broadcast live on Multishow , the performance featured the Pernambuco-based band Devotos , a major influence on the members of Black Pantera, with a set that balanced the music of both bands and was full of political messages of resistance.

The musicians' synergy on stage only increased the intensity of the performance, accompanied by a diverse and engaged audience that did not hesitate to shout "fire on the racists" and against President Jair Bolsonaro , in furious choruses against the politician that resonated with the band's pronouncements on stage.

The incendiary show serves to demonstrate to Brazil (and the world) the intense and admirable work of the two bands, both debuting on the event's stage to showcase the exemplary quality of their musicians and to call for diversity in the lineups of events of this magnitude. On the screen, in addition to the album covers of Black Pantera and Devotos, messages such as "Black Lives Matter" and a tribute to Black women with Elza Soares represented there were projected.

Living Colour idols , who will be sharing the same stage later today alongside Steve Vai , before tonight's Sunset headliner, Bullet For My Valentine , attended the show, marking the meeting of different generations of Black bands and the importance of representation at one of the biggest music festivals on the planet.
