The 2022 rock and metal release calendar has just gained a new heavyweight album with the announcement of the third album from Black Pantera , a hardcore trio from Minas Gerais, scheduled for release later this year.
Recorded at Tambor studio in Rio de Janeiro and produced by Rafael Ramos , the project is called Ascensão (Ascension ) and the cover has already been released by the band on social media. The black and white image chosen for the project is a reinterpretation of the photograph by Italian Giovanni Marrozzini of two women in the African country of Cameroon, which inspired the cover of Torto Arado , a book by Itamar Vieira Júnior .
For the cover of Black Pantera, the new image is by Victor Balde , who is responsible for other reinterpretations of the image. This photo is also part of the clothing collection "Fight like a Mozambican woman," by the brand ComRespeito , and includes a child in the lap of one of the women photographed.
“It’s our best work so far and it’s going to be a bombshell against everything we’ve been living and seeing,” the band said. While the album's release date hasn't been revealed yet, the first single from the project, “Padrão é o C**alho” (Standard is Bullshit), will be released next Friday, the 21st.
