Pakistani progressive rock band Black Hour has just released their third album, Woh Jahan (Another Universe).
The band is known for its melodies and compositions and began to make its mark on the underground metal scene in 2007, followed by the release of its debut album Age of War in 2011, which was well received by critics.
Since the release of Sins Remain in 2015, the group has gained recognition from international audiences. In Pakistan, Black Hour rose to prominence when they participated in the television program Pepsi Battle of the Bands and changed their song lyrics from English to Urdu in 2019.
Hashim Mehmood , guitarist and founder of the band, confirmed that "this album is a mix of rock'n'roll, with progressive tones and heavy riffs inspired by Eastern and Western melodies. The album will be the first entirely in the Urdu language."
Mehmood added: “We really hope our fans identify with this album, as it will be a completely new sound and experience, and we’re going to showcase a new, raw sound.”.
Black Hour's new work brings a range of emotions, versatility and portraits, a new structure for the South Asian progressive rock music scene.
