The highly anticipated single “77”, a collaboration between Billy Idol and Avril Lavigne , finally arrived on digital platforms last Tuesday, the 23rd.

The track combines Idol's classic punk style with Avril's characteristic vibrant and youthful energy, resulting in a sound that unites the best of two generations. The collaboration yielded videos of the two artists online to promote the single, which excited fans.

Earlier this year, Billy Idol commented on the collaboration in an interview (via Ultimate Classic ): “It turned out fantastic. [Avril] is incredible and the song came to life. It was already good with just me, but it became three times better with her.”

New album by Billy Idol

After more than a decade without releasing a full album, Billy Idol is back with Dream Into It , his first project since 2014. The album, which will be released this Friday, the 25th, will feature nine new tracks and special appearances by big names like Joan Jett and Alison Mosshart (The Kills).

“The album is a bit like the story of my life, almost in chronological order,” Idol recently told UCR . “That’s how we did the tracklist. We didn’t used to do it like that. You always put together a hit single first and the second single later. But this [album] tells a story, this is the story of my life. Seriously, that’s what Dream Into It is all about.”
