Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top announces new solo album, The Big Bad Blues.

The album will be the guitarist's second solo release.

Billy Gibbons , of ZZ Top , has announced that he will release a solo album, The Big Bad Blues , on September 21st. The successor to Perfectamundo (2015) will feature a series of unreleased songs and covers of blues classics, such as "Rollin' and Tumblin'" and "Standing Around Crying," originally by Muddy Waters .

In addition to composing and writing the lyrics, Gibbons co-produced the album alongside Joe Hardy, and when speaking about the influences on the new album, he revealed: “I suspect Jimmy Reed interested me right from the start. The inventiveness of that loud, solitary sound remains solid and strong to this day.”
