ZZ Top vocalist Hardware this Friday, the 4th . Recorded at Escape Studio in the high desert of California, near Palm Springs, the album was produced by Gibbons, Matt Sorum , and Mike Fiorentino , along with engineer Chad Shlosser.

Sorum ( Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver, Cult ) also plays drums on the album, while the guitar is handled by Austin Hanks. The album features 12 songs and the name is a tribute to the late Joe Hardy , the legendary engineer who worked with Gibbons and ZZ Top since the 1980s.
