In an interview with Alternative Nation, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan spoke about pop music and his thoughts on Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger:
“Chad is an incredible songwriter. I don’t know much about the Nickelback world, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing what they do if that’s what you want to be.”.
Regarding pop music, he commented:
"Pop is made to satisfy. I've said many times that pop is pornography. It's porn, they want to excite you. The problem is how they want to excite you.".
