Billie Joe Armstrong , lead singer of Green Day , got angry with a fan during a performance at the Hurricane Festival in Germany last Sunday, the 22nd. The artist reportedly threatened to "beat up" the fan if he didn't stop shooting at him with a water pistol.
The incident was filmed and is causing a stir on social media. In the video, it's possible to see Billie Joe pointing at a member of the audience and giving them the middle finger during the performance of the song "Jesus of Suburbia." Immediately after getting the crowd excited with a "hey-oh," he steps away from the microphone, takes out his guitar, throws it on the ground, and directly reprimands the fan.
It's possible to see Billie Joe clearly saying, "I'm going to beat you up. You understand me?" The argument lasts about 15 seconds, then the vocalist picks up his guitar and continues the song.
Billie Joe Armstrong is already known for his fights with the audience. Previously, at Green Day's Woodstock show in 1994, it turned into a mud fight, with fans invading the stage after the performance ended. Similarly, during a performance at the Fillmore in San Francisco in 1997, Billie intimidated a fan who was causing trouble: "Hey, why don't you come here, you son of a bitch? You want to come up here and fight? I'll fight you right now. Come on, get on stage." The vocalist then dove headfirst into the audience to fight the spectator.
