Bill Ward , the original drummer for Black Sabbath , released a previously unreleased song by the group that bears his name, the Bill Ward Band , in tribute to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting that occurred on October 1, 2017, which killed more than 60 people. Titled "Arrows," the song was released on the two-year anniversary of the tragedy.
“For me, it’s like laying a wreath and sending the best to everyone and wishing everyone good luck, and also to those who were injured. It’s just a way of saying that we are very sorry for all these things happening and that we honor those who are not with us today,” he wrote on his social media when releasing the song.
"It's a very solemn gesture, but at the same time, I wrote a song that I hope will bring some comfort and some good things to those who are still working on this filming and dealing with the problems they've encountered because of the shooting."
The song features Brian Tichy , former drummer for Whitenake and Billy Idol , James Lomenzo , former bassist for Megadeth , and Keith Lynch , guitarist and longtime collaborator of Ward. Sarah Dugas and Ezra Ward also lend their vocals to the song.
