Brazilian guitarist Bill Hudson is involved in a number of heavy metal projects around the world, but one of the most special moments of his career happened in his hometown, São Paulo. Currently on tour with Doro Pesch , the musician told Wikimetal about the thrill of playing at Monsters of Rock .

Before the show, Bill was called to the stage for an interview with the event organizers and was celebrated by the audience. “I would say that the most memorable moment of the show was right at the beginning, when I went to take a selfie with my mother in front of the audience, people saw it and started shouting my name. That was not something I expected to happen at any time in Brazil, it really changed my perspective,” he said.

The musician has already performed several times in São Paulo, the most recent being with I Am Morbid in September 2022. The show was part of the tour celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the classic album Blessed Are The Sick (1991), the second by Morbid Angel (see exclusive photos here ). Even so, performing at Allianz Parque, surrounded by friends and family, was a high point for Hudson.

The most special moment of the show for Bill was when Doro unfurled the Brazilian flag during "All We Are," precisely at the moment of his solo. "It was really cool. Historic moments that happen in our lives," he said.

Bill Hudson will continue touring for the rest of 2023, embarking on the Monsters of Rock Cruise with Doro starting this Saturday, the 29th, for two shows with the band. Other highlights on the schedule include the Queen of Metal's 40th-anniversary concert at Wacken Open Air in Germany.

Furthermore, Hudson performs at major European festivals with the band NorthTale , which also has a tour scheduled in Japan with Edu Falaschi at the end of the year, and dates yet to be announced with I Am Morbid. "For a musician, this is incredibly lucky, I couldn't be happier about it," he concluded.

Doro's performance opened the festival last Saturday, the 22nd. Despite facing a still somewhat rusty audience, the Queen of Metal delivered a flawless performance. See the review and photos here .
