Biff Byford , vocalist of Saxon , spoke about a possible new album from the band. The British band's most recent work is the album Hell, Fire And Damnation , released in January 2024.

Speaking to FaceCulture , Byford said the band is "writing" and that he already has lyrics and names for potential songs on Saxon's new album. The vocalist also commented that his bandmates have already sent him "many ideas" (via Blabbermouth ).

"I'm making a short list of which songs we should use, which style to play, which songs are slow, fast, medium, and have good guitar riffs," he said.

The group's idea is to rehearse the compositions in July and record the album between January and February 2026, with the intention of releasing it at the end of the same year. It will be the British band's 25th studio album.

"So I hope the next one is as good, if not better… Well, it can't always be better, but let's hope so. I mean, Hellfire is going to be hard to top. That's a pretty perfect album, I think."

Byford also commented on the band's current album.

Hell, Fire And Damnation marked the arrival of guitarist Brian Tatler ( Diamond Head ) to Saxon. Tatler is the replacement for Paul Quinn , who left the band in 2023. According to Byford, Tatler's arrival gave "a different dynamic" to the group's compositions and therefore, became "a good thing".

“It has a really raw and vibrant sound… if you compress the total production time of this album, it was four weeks at most… you can hear everything brilliantly, nothing is too complicated, nothing is too compressed. The guitar sounds are simply great, raw guitar sounds. And we didn’t do much layering on them; it’s just playing. I really, really like that.”

The band is coming to Brazil in May.

Saxon is one of the headliners at Bangers Open Air , which will take place in São Paulo. The band will perform on the 3rd. In addition to the festival, the British band will also play shows in Porto Alegre and Belo Horizonte . The show in Porto Alegre will be on the 4th, and in Belo Horizonte on the 6th.
