Biff Byford , vocalist of Saxon , revealed last Saturday, the 30th, news about the hernia removal surgery he underwent, which was successful.
In a post on his official Facebook page , Byford commented on his hernia removal ( via Brave Words ):
"Hi, I had hernia surgery on Saturday. Many thanks to the team at Dutchy Hospital, I've had this hernia problem for years. I had to have it removed before the next tour."
Biff Byford also spoke briefly about the announcement of shows in the UK and Ireland: “Tickets for the UK and Ireland shows are now available, and last time they all sold out. So buy your tickets soon, they're selling fast.”

Biff Byford, health problems and lifestyle changes
In an interview with Full in Bloom in late 2021, Biff Byford commented that he had made changes to his diet after suffering a heart attack and undergoing emergency triple bypass surgery ( via Blabbermouth ):
“I don’t eat dairy anymore. I suppose I’ll eat a piece of cheese occasionally, but I can’t eat dairy anymore because of my cholesterol level. But practically, I haven’t changed. We’ll have a vegetarian week in a few weeks where my wife will put vegetarian food on our plates all week, which is a bit of a change and gets rid of toxic things in the body. But I haven’t really changed much, to tell you the truth.”
According to the vocalist, he still drinks occasionally: “Oh, yes! Two glasses of wine on some nights is no problem. As long as you're not drinking two bottles of wine, it's all right.”
In August of this year, Byford underwent heart surgery at Spire Hull And East Riding Hospital due to atrial fibrillation, an arrhythmia that causes the atria to beat faster.
Saxon is a confirmed act for the next edition of Bangers Open Air , which will take place on May 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2025 in São Paulo at the Memorial da América Latina .
Tickets for Bangers Open Air 2025 are available on the Clube do Ingresso website.
