Guitar World has chosen the best guitarists of the decade.
Nearly 50,000 public votes, combined with those from journalists, were used to decide who the most extraordinary guitarists of the last ten years are.
Among the factors prioritized when making the choice are: influence on the next generation of musicians, overall impact on the guitar scene, level of success, visibility, cultural importance, and importance in the music industry.
Among the highlights on the list is Mateus Asato , a 26-year-old Brazilian guitarist who has been recognized worldwide for his talent.
Kiko Loureiro , another Brazilian who is a multi-instrumentalist and guitarist, also made the list. He is currently a member of Megadeth and a former member of Angra , a band he was part of until 2015.
In fourth place is Nita Strauss Alice Cooper 's current touring guitarist . In addition to her, the 37-year-old multi-instrumentalist St. Vincent is also on the list.
It is worth highlighting John Petrucci, John Mayer, Mark Tremonti, Joe Bonamassa and Gary Clark Jr. .
