Recently, the newest film in the MCU, Marvel Cinematic Universe, was released, bringing two beloved and iconic comic book characters to the big screen. It's Deadpool & Wolverine , which debuted at number one on the charts.
Action movies are known for using rock and metal soundtracks to illustrate their backgrounds, creating quite iconic scenes. In the case of Deadpool & Wolverine, we had some big names in the genre like Green Day and AC/DC .
Below is a list of the best Marvel action scenes featuring rock music.
Thor: Ragnarok – “Immigrant Song” (Led Zeppelin)
In Norse mythology, Thor is the god of thunder. In Thor: Ragnarok (2017), the battle between the protagonist – aided by his brother Loki, Hulk, and Valkyrie – and his sister Hela is complemented by "Immigrant Song," a classic by Led Zeppelin released on Led Zeppelin III (1970).
The music, which has a Viking theme, fits the scene perfectly.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – “The Chain” (Fleetwood Mac)
When all seemed lost, Peter Quill regains his strength and battles his father in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Serving as the soundtrack, the chosen song was "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac , originally released in 1977 on the album Rumours .
Iron Man 2 – “Another One Bites The Dust” (Queen)
I think nobody likes fights between two friends, and with Tony Stark, Iron Man, and James Rhodes, War Machine, it couldn't be any different. In the second film about the leader of the Avengers, the battle between them is accompanied by Queen as they fight after Rhodes arrives at Stark's party.
Thor: Love and Thunder – “November Rain” (Guns N' Roses)
Guns N' Roses was the main band to contribute to the soundtrack of Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), which, since its trailer, has already given fans goosebumps. Even though it's not among the favorite Marvel movies – far from it – the use of "November Rain" at the end of the film, in a battle where the children join Thor to fight the villains, is undeniably a great moment.
Deadpool & Wolverine – “Hells Bells” (AC/DC)
Without giving away any spoilers for the new movie, there's a fight scene between the two protagonists, shortly after they're sent to a place they don't want to be, and Wolverine gets angry about the situation. In a great scene, the characters fight to the sound of "Hells Bells" by AC/DC.
