Behemoth has released “Off to War!”, the newest single from the group's upcoming studio album, Opvs Contra Natvram , which will be released on September 16th.
The track features traditional Behemoth elements, but with a more versatile feel. The new release was accompanied by a music video directed by Påhl Sundström and Erik Sundström , which you can watch below.
“Off to War!” follows “Ov My Herculean Exile,” released in May of this year. The album, the group's 12th, features eight other tracks, all written during the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking about these ten tracks, Behemoth's leader and founder, Adam “Nergal” Darski , commented in a statement: “The album title means going against the grain. It's the negative side of moral values and ethics that I'm against.”
“I have seriously struggled against the destructive trends in pop culture – cancel culture, social media, and tools that I feel are dangerous weapons in the hands of people who are not competent to judge others. This is something I find very destructive and disturbing – and very limiting when it comes from an artist's perspective. My middle finger to all of this.”
