In a Facebook post, vocalist Nergal commented on the controversial case surrounding the band Decapitated this week.
There, the musician asks the audience not to judge the band without knowing what really happened.
“Life on tour can get crazy sometimes. I wasn’t on the Decapitated tour bus. I didn’t talk to anyone and I don’t know the other people involved. I don’t want to speculate, but I’ve learned in my personal and professional life that people are complicated. I’ve never forced anyone to have sex with me, and we should have zero tolerance in those cases, without a doubt. But I know the guys from Decapitated, and in my experience, they are good, decent, and hardworking men. If they really committed the crime [gang rape], they should face the consequences, but please remember that only some of the people involved have been heard. So please breathe, count to ten, and think before you start accusing and judging them publicly without being sure of what they did. (…) I really hope the case ends positively so they can go home as soon as possible. Stay strong.”
The band members are currently being held in Washington awaiting extradition to Poland.
