The Beatles will have four biopics made about them, one for each member.

The films will be directed by Sam Mendes, and each will be told from the perspective of a different band member.

Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced the arrival of four more biographical films about the Beatles . Each film will tell the life and career story from the perspective of one of the band members. Scheduled for release in 2027, the four biographies will be directed by Sam Mendes , the filmmaker behind 1917 and American Beauty .

The project marks the first time that the Beatles – Paul McCartney , Ringo Starr , and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison – have authorized a film production of this type, granting the complete life story and musical rights for the film's screenplay.

The director's idea is to tell an interconnected story through the perspective of the four band members. In addition to directing, Sam Mendes will also produce the films alongside Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor , from Neal Street Productions , a production company founded by the filmmaker.

Mendes shared : “I’m honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a ‘journey’ in cinema.”

According to Deadline , the characters will be played by the same actors in all four films. And, according to a statement from the Beatles themselves, the release strategy for the projects will be "innovative and unprecedented."
