Green Day used their social media to celebrate reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify for the single "Basket Case" from their 1994 album Dookie . The announcement was made on February 26th, the month in which the band's historic album celebrates its 30th anniversary.
The achievement couldn't have come at a better time for the band featuring Billie Joe Armstrong , Mike Dirnt , and Tré Cool . Green Day announced, in November 2023 , their next major tour, The Saviors Tour , scheduled to begin on May 30, 2024.
The tour, which marks the release of Green Day's newest studio album, Saviors (2024), also celebrates the 30th anniversary of Dookie and the 20th anniversary of American Idiot, two of the band's biggest albums. The tour will also feature bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins , Rancid , The Linda Lindas , Nothing But Thieves , The Hives , among others.

The Billions Club is a Spotify playlist that, as the name suggests, brings together songs that have reached the milestone of 1 billion streams.
Also in 2024, hits like "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence , "Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses , "All the Small Things" by Blink-182 , and "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC entered the prestigious club.
Green Day joins other big names like Aerosmith and Metallica , who were also included on the playlist for "Dream On" and "Nothing Else Matters," respectively.
