One-man band went overboard with the fake news wave
Jered Threatin , a musician from Los Angeles, created a band called Threatin , and since then only insane things have happened.
After booking shows at various venues across Europe, Threatin was exposed as an imposter. The musician falsified numbers, bought followers on his social media, and edited a live video to make it seem like the shows were sold out.
As a result, several producers were misled into thinking their shows would be packed, but as the performances progressed, they realized the deception: nobody showed up to any of the shows.
The venue, The Underworld, even publicly questioned Jered and the band on their Facebook page: “What happened to the 291 advance tickets your manager mentioned? Three people showed up.”.
Jered also released a music video for the track "Living Is Dying" that showcases all the instruments and has 800,000 views, most of them purchased, of course. Watch the video below.
