Age of Unreason will be Bad Religion's 17th album
After releasing three singles last year, Bad Religion announced they will release a new album. Age Of Unreason will be released on May 3rd. Additionally, the punk-rock band revealed a new song, “Chaos From Within”.
Formed in 1980, Bad Religion will celebrate its 40th anniversary. Age of Unreason will be their 17th album, their first in six years.
As they have done throughout their career, the band addresses social and political issues on their new album. “The band has always stood for enlightened values,” said guitarist Brett Gurewitz . “Today, the values of truth, freedom, quality, tolerance, and science are in danger. This album is our response.”
According to a statement, topics such as racism, the election of Donald Trump , and Colin Kaepernick will be addressed.
Regarding the new song “Chaos From Within,” vocalist Gregg Graffin spoke about its connection to Trump's wall. “Throughout history, walls have been used to keep barbarians away. But, for me, the barbaric aspect of civilization is the chaos that comes from it.”
