The new track “Do The Paranoid Style” will be on the album Age Of Unreason.
In anticipation of their new album, Age Of Unreason , Bad Religion has revealed the new song “Do The Paranoid Style.” The track has a music video.
Age Of Unreason will arrive on May 3rd and will be the 17th album since the band's formation 40 years ago.
A press release explains that the track is inspired by historian Richard Hofstadter . He wrote the article “The Paranoid Style in American Politics.” The track compares “the contemporary right and its conspiracy theories to a dance craze.”
Guitarist Brett Gurewitz added: “When fringe groups blame dark forces for their own problems, it’s, at the very least, delusional. But when those in power do the same thing, it’s not delusion, it’s a method of delegitimizing the opposition. It’s a tool of authoritarianism.”
Along with the new song came a video that uses 20th-century propaganda imagery with images of people dancing. Watch it below:
