In the midst of such a difficult year, the explosion that occurred in the city of Beirut, Lebanon, last Tuesday, August 4th, unfortunately became yet another tragedy reported around the world. With approximately 158 deaths and more than 6,000 injured, Bachir Ramadan, the drummer of the metal band Nervecell , was one of the survivors of the event.

In a photo posted on the musician's social media the day after the disaster, he appears hospitalized with a scar running across his head and face, and one arm seems to be bandaged as well. “I survived what could have been much worse,” Ramadan wrote in the post. “Grateful for every second to be alive, to say the least… I want to take this moment to thank everyone who asked about me and got in touch. I love you all. I’m okay.”

Last Saturday, the 8th, the drummer returned to Facebook to reinforce his gratitude for the affection he is receiving. “Grateful and thankful to come out of this alive. Overwhelmed by the amount of love and support coming from all over the world and from each of you, my dear friends, it truly warms my heart, to say the least. I am extremely speechless at the moment, and it’s things like this that make me appreciate life even more. I love each and every one of you, my dear friends.”
