Blues legend B.B. King passed away last night (the 14th) in Las Vegas at the age of 89, from diabetes. The guitarist had been hospitalized last month for dehydration, which forced him to cancel 8 shows. His death was confirmed to the press by his lawyer.
B.B. King was born in Mississippi in 1925 and recorded his first hit, "3 O'Clock Blues," in 1954. In a career spanning nearly 70 years, B.B. King recorded more than 50 albums, the last being "One Kind Flavor" in 2008.
King won 15 Grammys and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
