Axl also said that Freddie Mercury is the greatest vocalist.
Guns N' Roses vocalist Axl Rose recently gave one of his rare interviews. For Atlas By Etihad , the musician discussed his performances in the United Arab Emirates and other topics.
Asked which singer, in his opinion, is the greatest vocalist of all time, Rose replied: “For me it’s easy. Queen is the greatest band and Freddie [Mercury] the greatest vocalist of all time. They are the greatest band because they embraced so many different styles.”
Regarding how he and Guns N' Roses continue to perform with so much energy every night, Axl said, "I always want to give the best to the fans. They come expecting a great performance, and that's what we want to give them. We push ourselves to go further in terms of performance and commitment. No matter how many performances you do, every audience is different. You feed off of that."
Rose also spoke about his interest in composing film scores. He said: “Listening to film scores is something I really enjoy. When you hear something like Pirates of the Caribbean and you have that mix of orchestra and modern instrumentation, it’s very clever. I have a lot of respect for the guys who do that. It’s something I’d like to do in the future.”
As we reported, Guns N' Roses cut short a show in the United Arab Emirates after Axl became "severely ill."
The band played about 20 songs before leaving the stage.
