Axl Rose and Ozzy Osbourne met for the first time backstage at Ozzy's farewell show with Black Sabbath on July 5th.
Guns N' Roses vocalist Axl Rose met Ozzy Osbourne backstage at the "Back to the Beginning" concert. Despite decades of rock careers, the two musicians had never met in person. The encounter took place during Ozzy's last performance with Black Sabbath , last Saturday, July 5th.
Both posted pictures of the moment on their social media accounts, and Ozzy said: “My first time meeting Axl Rose. At my age, you don’t meet many legends, seriously, a true gentleman.”
Axl Rose also commented on the meeting on his X/Twitter and recounted what it was like to meet the Prince of Darkness: “Wow!! What an event! Extremely exciting!! Sensational audience!! I met Ozzy!! (Unbelievable that we had never met before!!) He was very cool!! It was great to meet Sabbath!”
Guns N' Roses performed songs like "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Paradise City," as well as four Black Sabbath tracks. Ozzy closed the night with a performance alongside the original Sabbath lineup, marking his farewell to the stage.
The show brought together important names in rock music on a night that highlighted reunions and endings.
