Guns N' Roses performed in Italy during the first week of July, and a longtime fan had the opportunity to tell Axl Rose about a tribute she made to her idol. The woman named her son, currently 10 years old, Axl, exactly like the band's frontman.
The Guns N' Roses show in Rome took place on July 8th. As is customary, fans gathered in front of the hotel where the musicians were staying in the Italian capital, and the mother of young Axl showed a photo of the child to the idol – and Axl Rose's reaction was one of great joy.
Initially, the interaction is more formal, with Axl Rose signing items for the fans present while security guards hurry him into the waiting van. “Axl, this is my son. I’ve loved you since 1987,” begins the Italian fan, showing a photo of the child on her cell phone. At this moment, the idol takes off his glasses to see the little one, but he doesn’t yet know the best part. “Is this him?” he asks, pointing to someone in the picture.
“Yes, Axl,” the mother replies. “Is it spelled AXEL?” Rose asks, since that’s a common name, while his stage name is an acronym. “It’s like yours! AXL. He’s my son, he’s 10 years old now,” the woman explains.
When he finishes signing an autograph for the fan in question, Axl Rose calls one of the security guards over to tell the story, pointing to the photo of the boy named after him. “Just like me,” he says. The singer smiles and decides to hug the Italian child's mother, surprising the woman, before continuing with the other autographs.
According to Loudwire , the video was originally posted on a Reddit channel about Guns N' Roses, without further information about the mother of the boy named after Axl Rose. See the subtitled version below.
