Axl Rose , lead singer of Guns N' Roses , was accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed in the Supreme Court of New York, in the United States, this Wednesday, the 22nd.
According to the lawsuit, Sheila Kennedy , a former Penthouse model, claims to have met the singer at a party in New York in 1989, when she was 26 years old. That night, in a hotel room, she was sexually assaulted by Axl Rose.
She says she went to the party with a friend knowing that the band members were there. The model then met Axl Rose, with whom she chatted briefly before the singer invited her to a private party in his hotel room.
The former model alleges in her accusation that Axl Rose did not invite her friend who was with her because he considered her "not attractive enough." Sheila Kennedy apologized to her friend and accompanied Axl Rose, along with another model, Riki Rachtman – who has not yet commented on this accusation.
According to the accusation, Axl Rose allegedly served cocaine, champagne, and other alcoholic beverages to guests in the hotel room. Sheila went to the bathroom and, when she came out, she allegedly found Axl Rose outside, who "pushed her against the wall and kissed her."
According to the prosecution, Kennedy wanted to have sex with Rose until she saw him forcing himself on another model present in the room. The vocalist was also encouraging group sex, which Kennedy did not want to be a part of. She then left the room with Rachtman to return to her hotel room.
Rose allegedly followed the two women, was startled by Kennedy's presence in Rachtman's room, and pushed Kennedy to the floor. "While Kennedy was on the floor, Rose grabbed her by the hair and dragged her across the suite back to his room," the lawsuit stated.
When they arrived at his room, Rose allegedly threw Kennedy face down on the bed, grabbed her pantyhose, and tied her hands behind her back. Rose then allegedly forcibly penetrated Kennedy's anus with her penis, the lawsuit alleged.
“Kennedy did not consent and felt powerless. She felt she had no way out and was forced to consent. She believed Rose would physically attack her, or worse, if she said no or tried to push him away. She understood that the safest thing to do was to lie down on the bed and wait for Rose to stop the assault,” the indictment states.
Since then, Sheila Kennedy says she has suffered from anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress.
Alan S. Gutman , Axl Rose's lawyer, shared a statement with CNN on Wednesday, the 22nd, saying: "Simply put, this incident never happened."
“Notably, these fictitious allegations were filed the day before the New York State filing deadline. While he does not deny the possibility of a hastily taken fan photo, Mr. Rose has no recollection of meeting or speaking with the author, and had never heard of these fictitious allegations prior to today,” the statement continued. “Mr. Rose is confident that this case will be resolved in his favor.”
