The band talks about "The Stage"
In an interview with German radio station Star FM, the members of Avenged Sevenfold talked about the promotional strategy for their album "The Stage," which was released unexpectedly on October 27th.
Guitarist Zacky Vengeance commented:
“We wanted to do something that no rock band had ever dared to do. And for us, we wanted to do something exciting for our fans and release everything at once. Instead of building a buzz around the album, which most bands do, for many, many months, we wanted the fans to decide for themselves what they thought of the album before hearing a bunch of other people's opinions. The way it was when you opened an album and listened to it first, and fell in love. Today we feel that magic is gone. People listen to a song once or twice and move on to something else. So we wanted to do something different. We wanted people to keep talking. We had no idea if it would work, but we knew that, no matter what happened, our fans would like it.”
