For the past three days, Avenged Sevenfold has been posting a series of surprisingly well-produced videos that seem to tell a story. The difference? The videos feature Barbie dolls and other toys.
The band's intentions with these mysterious videos are still unclear, but all the posts have been carefully crafted, so it's worth keeping an eye out for what's coming next.
The first episode of the series features the birth of a Barbie named Sweetheart Barbie . Throughout the episodes, we see that the character tends to accept the opinions of older people – especially authority figures like her parents and teachers – and live her life based on the roles assigned to her, without questioning them.
In the second episode, the members of Avenged Sevenfold appear as students in the same class as Sweetheart Barbie, with photos of themselves pasted onto the dolls' faces. The comedic episode seems to be a satire of the roles older generations try to assign to younger generations. In a humorous way, the teacher-Barbie describes the future of each Avenged Sevenfold member and their role in the band.
In the third episode, the character Sweetheart Barbie moves into her new house in a suburban neighborhood and prepares to strictly follow the life that others have decided for her, but is warned by another eccentric character, a patient from the psychiatric hospital, not to conform to the system.
