Bands release statements
A 19-year-old roadie for Avenged Sevenfold died last Monday in an accident during the dismantling of the band's stage in Stuttgart, Germany. The roadie died after another employee, 26 years old, fell on top of him from a height of 20 meters. The 26-year-old roadie is hospitalized.
Avenged Sevenfold released a statement regarding the tragedy:
“We have very sad news to report. A 26-year-old stagehand fell from a beam while dismantling our stage. He fell a considerable distance onto a 19-year-old member of our crew. Tragically, the 19-year-old died as a result of the accident. The other man is in critical condition in the hospital.”.
This is incredibly heartbreaking for everyone in the band and our crew. We send our thoughts and positive energy to the man in the hospital, all the families involved, and everyone affected by this horrific accident. We love our crew and everyone who is essential to making our shows happen around the world. This is a reminder of how accidents can happen and how lives can be destroyed in the process.”.
Disturbed, who are touring with Avenged Sevenfold, also released a statement saying: “We love all the dedicated members who make the shows happen every day. This horrific tragedy is almost unbearable.”
