In a statement, M. Shadows reveals that he will be resting his voice for three months.

Avenged Sevenfold had to cancel their upcoming North American tour after lead singer M. Shadows discovered a serious problem with his vocal cords.

On his social media profiles and the band's official website , Shadows released a statement revealing that he will have to rest his voice for three months to prevent permanent damage and apologizing to fans.

“After Europe I caught a terrible viral infection that left me voiceless. I did my best to manage the situation with vocal rest, medication and doctor visits but my voice only got worse (…) A blood blister formed on my vocal cords and is preventing them from vibrating properly,” he explains.

"In short, I can't sing at all right now, and the more I try, the more damage I cause. Luckily, the doctors now feel that three months without singing and resting my voice should fix my vocal cords. Unfortunately, this means we'll have to cancel all tour dates for now."

The musician also apologized to the bands Prophets of Rage and Three Days Grace , who were scheduled to accompany Avenged Sevenfold on the tour. “We have some things coming up soon that should be fun, so we hope you’ll keep an eye out for them. Again, my sincerest apologies and I hope to see you soon. Quietly, M,” he concluded.

The End of the World Tour was scheduled to begin this Sunday, the 22nd, in Mansfield, Massachusetts, in the United States, and fans will be reimbursed for the cancellation.
