Despite the relatively young age of its members AVATAR , a metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden, has been showcasing its unique ideology and talent in the music world for over twenty years. After Brazil experienced this iconic band in a short opening show forIron Maiden, we were able to see the full concert in Lisbon on the evening of Sunday, March 26th.
AVATAR is touring Europe with their Dance Devil Dance , promoting their recently released album of the same name. And for the Lisbon show, the band had support from the American djent band Veil of Maya and the Swiss newcomers Kassogtha .
The band delivered an admirable and flawless performance across 18 tracks, in a very well-crafted selection spanning various periods of their career. Avatar, in both its aesthetic and musical approach, is a melting pot of the entire history of the metal genre, inspired by iconic bands and, in a way, offering a more modern and youthful take on a style that needs to reinvent itself and showcase new bands.
