The vocalist has been suffering from the illness since 2016

Austin Carlile , former vocalist of Of Mice & Men , was hospitalized due to complications from Marfan syndrome, an illness that forced him to leave the band in 2016.

On his Instagram, Carlile posted a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed, explaining that he had to be admitted to have spinal fluid drained from his head.

The vocalist was replaced in Of Mice & Men by Aaron Pauley because he could no longer sing due to illness. If he had continued in the band, his voice could have suffered permanent damage.

Last month, Carlile announced that he was feeling better and would soon return to the music world, but planned to work with a "new scene and a new sound".
