August Burns Red releases new version of “Pangea” with Periphery guitarist

This new cover version is part of the re-release of the album 'Leveler', which is now 10 years old.

August Burns Red revisited a classic by deciding to re-record their fourth studio album, Leveler, for its 10th anniversary.

One of the songs to get a new makeover is “Pangea,” which was released this Friday, the 7th. The new version features Misha “Bulb” Mansoor , guitarist of the progressive metal group Periphery , who delivers an incredible solo for the song.

Speaking about the reinterpretation, guitarist JB Brubaker revealed that "Pangea" is his favorite song on the album. "It's perhaps the most progressive song on the album, so it was a natural decision to call Misha from Periphery to play on it," he explained about the collaboration.

The 10th anniversary re-release of Leveler will be available in its entirety on streaming platforms on May 21st, and the physical version will arrive on June 21st. The project features other guests besides Mansoor. Matt Heafy , from Trivium , and Ryan Kirby , from Fit for a King , will also be part of the re-recording.
