August Burns Red is in the midst of an exhausting tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Leveler , and while doing so, they still found time to look back on their career and the last 18 months to write "Vengeance".

“Earlier this year we committed to releasing a single that was fast, heavy, and concise. 'Vengeance' is exactly that. It's ABR in its rawest form,” the band said upon releasing the song.

The single, which will not be part of a future album, brings together all the band's feelings from the last few months about the pandemic. In it, the group also calls for unity to end this exhausting division the world is experiencing. "Currently there is a lack of compassion and understanding for others and we think that each of us should be doing what we can to bring these things back into our lives."
