On Tuesday, the 30th, Atreyu released the official video for his new single "Underrated". The images show a live performance by the band, complete with a frenetic light show in blue, white, and red.
“Underrated” arrives five months after “ Save Us ,” which first showcased the band’s current lineup. With the departure of vocalist Alex Varkatzas , drummer Brandon Saller Kyle Rosa , who had already temporarily filled in on drums during the 2019 tour, is now taking his place
The performance shown in the new music video contains footage from Atreyu's global livestream, Carry The Fire , held on November 20, 2020. According to Blabbermouth , the band reportedly said: “We never got a golden ticket or a free ride to the top of the mountain. We’ve worked tirelessly for over 20 years to get where we are and this is just the beginning. Our 'Underrated' video is an example of how hard we work to bring a live show to your living room.”
“Underrated” and “Save Us” are part of Atreyu’s new album, Baptize, which will be released on June 4th. The album also contains the single “ Warrior ,” a collaboration with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. Guitarist Travis Miguel gave more details about the project: “[The album] has some really heavy, headbanging tracks. It’s definitely Atreyu, which, actually, can mean anything. A lot of people would consider it a completely messed up song. Some people think it’s the best thing in the world. It has a little bit of everything, which is kind of what we’ve always done.”
