Atreyu continues in full force with the band's new lineup. After a series of releases with drummer Brandon Saller now as vocalist, such as "Underrated" and "Save Us ," the band continues to sample their upcoming album with full power in "Catastrophe."
With a frenetic and heavy start, the track features a melodic chorus and was inspired by the catastrophic state of the world today. “It’s an apocalyptic love song. We took a more creative approach to the feelings we were experiencing, as individuals, and for the rest of the planet,” the band said (via Blabbermouth ). “It felt like the world was crumbling around us. But living through all of that with someone you truly love somehow made it all okay.”
After vocalist Alex Varkatzas and Saller joined as the new vocalist, the band recruited Kyle Rosa as a permanent drummer, a position he had previously filled temporarily during a 2019 tour.
“Catastrophe”, like the previous singles, is part of the band's upcoming album, called Baptize , which will be released on July 4th by Spinefarm Records . Pre-orders are available here .
