Atreyu an American band that blends metalcore and hard rock, has announced a single performance in Brazil on March 20, 2025, at Carioca Club in São Paulo. This will be the band's first show in the country.
Tickets are available on the official Clube do Ingresso website.
The tour, titled 25 Years in the Making , celebrates the band's 25-year career and will also visit Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile for the first time.
Wikimetal spoke with vocalist Brandon Saller about coming to Brazil, the band's 25th anniversary, and more.
Speaking about their debut in Brazil, he commented that the group really wanted to come to Latin America. “Specifically to Brazil (…) so it’s kind of crazy that it took so long, but we’re very excited to finally be going there.”
“We always hear stories and legends about how passionate the people are, how insane the shows are, and how the audience goes crazy. We're eager to see all of that up close, you know?”
Although this is Atreyu's first time performing in Brazil, the band has been on the road for 25 years and has released nine studio albums, the most recent being The Beautiful Dark of Life (2023).
Atreyu has become a benchmark in the genre for its flexibility and creativity in its sound. Always maintaining metalcore as its essence, the group experiments with fusions with other styles, without worrying about what other bands are doing.
According to Saller, this is the secret to success. "We always try to stay as focused as possible and not pay too much attention to what others are doing. The important thing is to create and follow the path that we feel is right."
Atreyu's sonic blend became even more evident on his penultimate album, Baptize (2021). The album featured collaborations with artists such as Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach , Matt Heafy of Trivium , and Travis Barker of blink-182 .
“I think the collaborations on Baptize , specifically, made the songs millions of times better,” Saller said. He also commented on the collaboration with Jacoby on the song “Untouchable,” which almost didn’t make it onto the album.
“These collaborations can drastically change the energy of a song. In the end, you bring new influences to the creative process. When you're in a band, it's usually four or five people, and those minds create all the music and make the decisions. But when you bring in new energy, whether by contributing to the songwriting, vocals, or in any other way, you add a new creative perspective, and that can completely change the possibilities of what can happen.”
Brandon also believes that the arrival of a new energy can generate countless possibilities. "There's something new in this process, but it also brings a bit of the energy from our early days."
That's the energy the band tries to bring to the stage. Saller explained that the setlist will be specially designed for each city. "Today we can find out who listens to what and we're going to use that," he said, adding that the setlist will include more classic songs from the band, but also the more recent ones.
