The new generation of English alternative rock bands seems to have found its next representatives in Atheana , which has the potential to be the next revelation of the genre.
Formed in 2019 by guitarists Stuart Woolley and Ross Jubber , who were joined by drummer Ellis Anderson , the quartet has only released two singles so far, both in 2022, but they have already garnered thousands of views on YouTube.
In “Dyspnea”, the band’s most recent work, the dark aesthetic already explored in the first single gains more weight with dirtier vocals amidst the crystalline melodic lines of vocalist Soph Payton .
