At The Gates have revealed details of their eighth studio album. Titled The Ghost of a Future Dead , it is scheduled for release on April 24th via Century Media Records .
The announcement is accompanied by the premiere of the first single, "The Fever Mask ," along with a music video in tribute to vocalist Tomas Lindberg .
The album, completed over two years ago, takes on a strong emotional weight as it was the last work with Lindberg. The vocalist passed away in September 2025 after battling complications from cancer treatment.
In an official statement, the band explained that they respected the frontman's wishes in all aspects of the production, including the title, mixing, track order, and cover art, ensuring that the project reflects Lindberg's artistic vision.
“It was one of the last songs written for the album and quickly stood out as the natural choice for both the opening track and the first single from 'The Ghost of a Future Dead'. It perfectly captures the essence of At The Gates, blending raw energy, strong melody, and Tomas' beautiful lyrics.”
