Asking Alexandria: Guitarist and co-founder Ben Bruce leaves the band.

The musician formed the band in 2006 and is now leaving for personal reasons.

Ben Bruce , guitarist and co-founder of Asking Alexandria , has announced his departure from the band.

In a social media post, the musician explained that he is leaving the band to spend more time with his family.

“To my amazing AA family,” Bruce wrote in the post. “First and foremost, I want to thank you all for the years of love and support. It means more to me than you can imagine.

“I’ve dedicated my entire life to music. It was my first love since I was two years old, and the journey I’ve taken has been absolutely incredible. As I’ve grown older and my life has inevitably changed, I’ve realized how precious time is. The time I’ve spent with all of you has been the best time of my life. But now it’s time to dedicate my life to my family.”

He continued: “Beyond the family medical situations, leaving my children means missing many important moments in their lives. It’s very important to me to be by their side as they grow up and to be there for my family when they need me.”

Bruce then thanks the fans: “The memories will live in my heart forever. I truly love you all so much for the years of support you’ve given me and for Asking Alexandria.”

The guitarist formed Asking Alexandria as a teenager in 2006, a few years before his longtime bandmates Danny Worsnop, Cameron Liddell, James Cassells , and Sam Bettley joined the lineup.

It has not yet been announced who will replace the guitarist. In March, the group will come to Brazil to participate in the I Wanna Be Tour festival with Mayday Parade, A Day To Remember, Pitty and more.
