Asia , the legendary supergroup famous for being part of the soundtrack of Hollywood cigarette commercials in the 80s, has announced its return. The label Frontiers Music Srl announced the signing of the band, with a new lineup, through social media last Thursday, the 19th.

The new Asia lineup features founding member, songwriter, producer and keyboardist Geoff Downes , drummer Virgil Donati , guitarist John Mitchell , and newcomer bassist and vocalist Harry Whitley .

In a press release, Geoff Downes commented: "ASIA is very happy to have recently signed a new contract with Frontiers Music Srl.".

The band also announced a return to the stage and a new album: “Having been loyally supported by the label throughout ASIA’s reunion period, from 2005 to 2015, we are now entering an exciting new chapter in the band’s 45-year history, with a series of live albums, DVDs and a new studio album scheduled for release in 2026. It’s like a return home for the band, and so we look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with them in the future. Stay tuned!”

Frontiers' Vice President of A&R, Mario de Riso , also commented: “I am very proud and excited that the label can bring back this iconic band. There were certainly unfinished business to resolve and, thanks to this fabulous new lineup, new ASIA music can now come to fruition. It's going to be amazing!”
