The cancelled show was replaced by a charity event
As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis served a two-year prison sentence. He was found guilty of soliciting the murder of his wife. Now, the band has had a show canceled due to complaints against Lambesis.
The band announced their return in June 2018, selling out their North American tour. The next tour doesn't start until March, but one of the venues cancelled the show.
Growlers, a Tennessee venue, released a statement regarding the cancellation. They stated that the public revolted against the scheduled show, leading to the decision. A statement from Lambesis himself was also quoted, saying that not everyone is "prepared to give a second chance.".
An excerpt from the statement reads: “After hearing the discontent from friends, local bands, partners and venues, Growlers has cancelled the As I Lay Dying show. Previously scheduled for April 5th, the event has been replaced by a benefit concert for victims of domestic violence.”
