As I Lay Dying has announced a European tour for October/November of this year. The tour is being billed as “One Night with As I Lay Dying,” which will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band’s third album, Shadows Are Security (2005).
This is the first announcement since everyone except Tim Lambesis left the band last year. However, so far there is no confirmation of the new members who will be touring.
The news of their return to the stage came shortly after the revelation that the band had signed with FM Music Management .
Over the past seven years, the Californian metalcore band has been embroiled in a series of controversies involving Tim Lambesis , its only original member.
Layoffs at As I Lay Dying
In October 2024, the band lost guitarist Phil Sgrosso, drummer Nick Pierce , guitarist Ken Susi , and bassist Ryan Neff , leaving only vocalist and co-founder Tim Lambesis. This led the group to cancel their Latin American tour scheduled for March 2025.
Furthermore, vocalist Tim Lambesis has also had his name associated with multiple controversies, episodes of violence, and criminal charges. This includes an arrest in 2014 after allegedly ordering the murder of his ex-wife .
Sentenced to six years in prison in May of that year after pleading guilty, he was released approximately two and a half years later, in December 2016.
In June 2018, the band played their first show with the vocalist, after releasing a video explaining the group's return .
