Last Tuesday, the 20th, Kurt Cobain , vocalist and guitarist of Nirvana , would have turned 57 years old, had he been alive. The musician passed away on April 5, 1994, but was only found three days after his death, at his home in Seattle, in the United States.
Nearly 30 years after their death, Nirvana's music remains relevant and popular. In 2021, the classic "Smells Like Teen Spirit" surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, earning the band a place in Spotify's exclusive Billions Club.
To celebrate Cobain's life and legacy, Midjourney, an artificial intelligence tool, created images to simulate what the musician would look like today.
“With advances in technology and thanks to AI, we can see what he might look like today if he hadn’t died. Aside from having a few more wrinkles, Midjourney assumes he would still look quite similar to what he was,” wrote the British newspaper Daily Star , which published the images.
