Armored Saint has released a new single and music video. “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” arrives as the second preview of the band's new album, Punching the Sky , which is due out on October 23rd via Metal Blade.
“When you’re in a band that started four decades ago, you really have to push yourself harder than ever to make a new album,” said vocalist John Bush about the band’s new phase. “The last thing you want is for it to feel like you’re just going with the flow or just releasing a product to do some touring. Records are immortal. They’ll be here long after we’re gone. You have to contribute in your own way.”
“Part of me can’t believe we’ve been doing this for so long,” reflected bassist Joey Vera . “It’s incredible. So I feel really lucky to have the support of the fans and our record label for all these years. Without that support, we really couldn’t do any of this. So that’s a big part of what keeps us going, and when I stop and look around, I’m amazed that we’ve had the opportunity to make music and tour for so long. The initial goal was when we were just 18 years old,” he concludes.
