Arch Enemy made their return to Brazil after four years as the main headliner of the first day of Bangers Open Air 2026, which takes place this weekend at the Memorial da América Latina in São Paulo.

The Swedish melodic death metal band joined the lineup 's cancellation Twisted Sister, and the timing of their appearance at the festival couldn't be better: the highly anticipated debut of their new vocalist, Lauren Hart, in Brazil.

The setlist covered all phases of the group, even bringing back classics from the Johan Liiva, such as "Bury Me An Angel," which drove longtime fans wild, and the same reaction occurred with the impressive new track "To The Last Breath."

Veterans and founding members Michael Amott and Daniel Erlandsson need no introduction; as pillars of guitar and drums in the style, respectively, they command the stage delivering the perfect balance between melody and extreme heaviness that has made the quintet famous. Songs immortalized in the voice of Alissa White-Gluz, such as "War Eternal," "The World Is Ours," and "The Eagle Flies Alone," were also present in the repertoire and proved to be absolute hits live.

Lauren Hart was moved by the reception from Brazilian fans during the Arch Enemy concert

Whenever her name was chanted by the audience, Lauren would get emotional and set aside her frontwoman with guttural vocals to thank the fans for their affection, emphasizing that she had "always heard good things about Brazil"—which resulted in one of the warmest moments of the show.

Hart also impresses with her stage presence and vocal timbre, which directly recall the iconic former vocalist and current manager of the band, Angela Gossow. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to speculate that the choice of the American for the position was intentionally influenced precisely because of this familiarity.

Scheduled for Bangers Open Air 2026 with the arduous task of replacing a historic name, Arch Enemy proved why they are headliners of major European events and one of the giants of their genre, confirming that their inclusion in this edition was an absolute success.

With a powerful show, the Swedish group begins a new phase accompanied by a charismatic and technically skilled vocalist, who honors the legacy of her predecessors and perfectly captures the essence of the band, and is about to release an album that will feature good old "pure fucking metal".
