Arch Enemy started 2024 by announcing the departure of guitarist Jeff Loomis .
According to a post by the band on social media, the decision was made amicably. Jeff, who was with the group for 9 years, wished his former bandmates "all the best" and said he considers them "friends for life.".
In turn, founder and principal songwriter Michael Amott wrote: “It has been a great joy to have Jeff in Arch Enemy for almost a decade. We really enjoyed touring the world! We were friends long before we played together and remain close friends now, which is great. We respect that he is at a point in his life where he needs to step away from Arch Enemy and we all wish him nothing but the best for his future.”
Jeff Loomis will be replaced by guitarist Joey Conception , who had already briefly filled in for him at some shows on Arch Enemy's European tour in 2018.
